A Little Background on DOUG!

Doug comes from a family of builders, educators and entrepreneurs.  His father was a public school teacher, principal and worked for the Ohio Department of Education.  His mother was a Property Manager for many years with a national management firm. His father went on to own more than three successful companies after his retirement from the Department of Education and finished his dream of becoming a lawyer at sixty one years of age.
Doug grew up learning about hard work and making ends meet.  With his father on a teachers salary and with four other siblings, Doug began working at age 10, delivering newspapers to make extra money for his own necessities.  He owned his first business, special education transportation, at age 24.  After selling that business to his father at age 26, Doug worked with his father to build up the family business into one of the larger special education and school bus transportation companies in the midwest.
Doug became one of the premier school bus routing transportation specialist, working on systems in Chicago, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. He managed and operated school bus and special education systems that ranged in size from a few individuals and a couple of vans to systems with hundreds of buses and employees.
Having spent much of his life with public education, as a son learning from his teacher/father and later as a businessman working with the day to day problems facing public school teachers, Doug has come to champion their causes.  He is a true believer in the benefit of public education.
Doug went on to own another company at the age of 33.  Combing special education transportation and on demand
service, Doug purchased a taxi company and married it

with the need for special education transportation to school and work.  Being open 24 hours a day seven days a week, Doug's company was able to solve the problem of finding real world jobs for the developmentally disabled. Not resting on his laurels, Doug integrated this 80 year old company and instituted Equal Opportunity work rules, allowing minority and female Taxi cab drivers to work all shifts.
Doug sold his company and moved to Florida in 1997.  Here he began his careers in public service, book writing and computer design, including web design and database design. He served as the first City Clerk for the new City of Palm Coast, Town Clerk for the Town of Beverly Beach and finance manager for Marineland attractions.
His first published book was Betrayal of Faith, published in November of 2005.  He has had numerous articles and short stories published in the many years he has been in Florida.
Working with a new partner, Doug formed, Patient Practitioners, LLC in August of 2003.  Doug created and designed a new database system that stores all of a persons personal medical records on a device as small as a credit card.  Applying for over 6 United States patents, one International patent, and receiving numerous copyrights and trademarks, Doug and his partner are working on an aggressive strategy to market this product globally.
Doug is a dedicated family man, married to his wife of thirty-four years with two sons.  He has a Masters Degree in Business from Xavier University in Ohio and numerous awards and certificates.  He continues to write and works on many web pages and new database designs.
