Flagler goes Democrat! |

District 20 in Flagler County registered more Democratic voters than Republican voters for the first time in eight years. Reports from the County Supervisor of elections web site, www.flaglerelections.com, showed a marked increase in registered Democratic voters in District 20, from a January Democratic deficit of 567 voters to a Democratic majority of 104 votes. Doug welcomes all new Democratic voters and looks forward to their vote this fall. |

Doug is Endorsed by the Florida AFL-CIO |

On June 21, 2008 delegates to the Florida AFL-CIO 2008 COPE Endorsing Convention voted to approve an endorsement for Doug's candidacy for the Florida House District 20 election. This was a state wide endorsement and Doug was thrilled to receive it. "This shows that the working men and women of Florida see a need for a new direction on Florida. I look forward to working with the men and women of the Florida AFL-CIO to make positive changes in Florida's working and economic future." Said Doug. |

Doug Meets and Speaks with Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama |

Friday June 20th, Doug was invited to a private reception with Senator Barack Obama at his Jacksonville, Florida Fundraiser. Doug was introduced to the potential President of the United States and talked briefly to him about our states energy policies. Doug was impressed with the Senator and spoke about the meeting later. "It was evident Senator Obama was his own man, well aware of the job before him and committee to doing great things for the United States." Said Doug. |

Doug is the Democratic Nominee For District 20! |

On noon June 20th the qualifications for Democratic Candidates for District 20 were completed. With the deadline past, no other candidates than Doug qualified for the District 20 race. With this news Doug became the Democratic Nominee for District 20 and goes into a campaign directly against the Republican opponent in November. There will be no Democratic Primary for District 20. |

Doug has now raised more money than any Democrat in Flagler and Saint Johns County for the first Quarter. Not only that, but out of all the candidates in the two counties he was in the top five. It's Official, Doug is Running! |

On Thursday January 3rd, 2008, Doug Courtney officially entered the race for State House District 20. Personally filing his paperwork in Tallahassee at the Supervisor of Elections office Doug began the steps to be your elected representative from State House 20. With his campaign accounts certified and his papers filed, Doug has begun a major fundraising effort and petition drive. Doug looks forward to the campaign and this years' election.
